Description

The Southshore Sewer Renewal Project will rehabilitate approximately over 1.8 miles of SJRA’s wastewater collection system, including existing collection lines ranging in size from 15 inches to 42 inches in diameter. Much of the collection system was constructed in the 1970s and is experiencing stormwater infiltration through cracks in the pipes and manholes; rehabilitating these pipes and manholes will extend the life of the system for years to come. Much of the project will be completed via trenchless methods, however some open excavation may be performed. Sewer service will not be interrupted throughout the duration of the project.

The project is currently in design; residents and businesses near the project may see engineers and surveyors conducting site investigations in late 2023 and 2024 as part of the design process. Following design, the project will enter the construction phase, during which residents and businesses will see construction traffic and bypass pumping in late 2024 and 2025.
