Woodlands Division

We are dedicated to excellence in developing and maintaining a superior water and wastewater system to meet the needs of our community.

Located in southern Montgomery County, the Woodlands Division provides wholesale water supply and wastewater treatment services to the 100,000-plus population of The Woodlands through the financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of three regional wastewater treatment plants, a wastewater conveyance system with thirty plus lift stations, five water plants, thirty eight water wells, six elevated and eight ground storage tanks, and miles of wastewater collection and potable water distribution lines. Since 1975 the Woodlands Division has served as the wholesaler to the ten municipal utility districts that provide retail services within The Woodlands.

Bear Branch Gravity Main Rehabilitation

A public meeting is being held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the San Jacinto River Authority, Woodlands Division, 2436 Sawdust Road, The Woodlands, Texas 77380,  to discuss the SJRA’s proposed project, “Bear Branch Gravity Main Rehabilitation”, which consists of rehabilitating approximately two miles of existing wastewater collection main by trenchless rehabilitation methods, the existing main being constructed of reinforced concrete  pipe (RCP) and sized 42-inch through 72-inch diameter, in Montgomery County, Texas.  One of the purposes of this hearing is to discuss the potential environmental impacts of the project and alternatives to it.  The total estimated cost of the project is $21,385,000.  A user rate increase will not be required to finance this project.  An application for financial assistance for the project has been filed with the Texas Water Development Board, P.O. Box 13231, Austin, Texas, 78711-3231.  An Environmental Information Document for the project has been prepared which will be available for public review at the San Jacinto River Authority, Woodlands Division office at 2436 Sawdust Road, The Woodlands, Texas 77380 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (Monday through Friday), for 30 days following the date of this notice. Written comments on the proposed project may be sent to the San Jacinto River Authority, Woodlands Division, 2436 Sawdust Road, The Woodlands, Texas 77380, or to the Texas Water Development Board.

SJRA receives no money from the state, nor does it collect any type of taxes. Income is primarily derived from the sale and distribution of water and treatment of wastewater. This revenue covers the cost of operation and maintenance as well as outstanding debt. Revenue bonds are sold to finance projects.
