Wallisville Road Siphon Improvements

Description

The project is based upon the identified need to replace SJRA’s existing Wallisville Road Siphon to accommodate the widening of Wallisville Road by Harris County. The Work will consist of installation of temporary cofferdams, two (2) new 48-inch diameter siphon pipes, reinforced concrete intake and discharge structures, water control gates, canal regrading, canal armoring with riprap, and other minor appurtenances associated with the project. The existing siphon structure will be abandoned in-place.

SJRA receives no money from the state, nor does it collect any type of taxes. Income is primarily derived from the sale and distribution of water and treatment of wastewater. This revenue covers the cost of operation and maintenance as well as outstanding debt. Revenue bonds are sold to finance projects.
